La Crema's Chocolate Fondue

Any excuse to take that beautiful drive down 30A to Rosemary Beach is a good one. But mine usually begins with this dessert from La Crema Tapas and Chocolate. Of course, we simply must have several fabulous (and pricey) small plates in the interim and maybe a sip or four of a pretentious cocktail. But yeah, this is lick the bowl chocolate. I don’t care who the hell is looking.Â
Although the restaurant was purchased by the Spell Restaurant Group (also owns Saltwater Grill) a few years ago, the menu and tastes are almost identical to the intense flavors that first blew me away in June 2013. There are other chocolate offerings and I particularly miss the chocolate bacon that has most unfairly disappeared from the menu. But look around and you’ll see this perfectly rich and smooth fondue littered at tables throughout the restaurant. I assume it the same quality of imported chocolate (Spanish?) that the restaurant has been servings since it’s successful opening more than a decade ago.Â
Tip: This is enough the share between 2-4 people and comes with fruit and marshmallows. If you really want to have a double delight, go for the warm choccolate chip cookies with a shot of milk.Â
