Sisters of the Sea, known for its “mermaids,” announced on its Facebook page that it is closing permanently.

The Rusty Grill, a casual dive restaurant with burgers, fish tacos, and fried fare, opened in October at 2920 Thomas Drive (near Captain Anderson’s).

The Local Cafe opens November 8. The meat-and-three serving breakfast and lunch, will be located at 401 E. 23rd Street near Home Depot.

Harrison’s Kitchen & Bar, opened to a good deal of fanfare in Panama City’s Waterfront District. The southern gourmet restaurant features shrimp and grits, seafood pastas, pimiento cheese appetizers, sandwiches and salads. Outdoor seating provides waterfront views. 5 Harrison Avenue, Panama City.

The long-anticipated Parlour Donuts opened a Panama City location earlier this month at 10260 Front Beach Road. The chain specialized in high-end donuts that include multiple layers.
The Hyatt Place has opened up at 15727 Front Beach Road, along with it’s poolside restaurant and bar, Charlie Coconuts.l

G. Foleys on W. 23rd Street. closed on July 3 after 11 years in business. In August, Holi Indian Grill (think Tikki Masala and Naan) will move from its current sites on W. 23rd to the G. Foley’s location.

Thistle and Thorn, specializing in hipster southern cuisine, opened at 304 Harrison Avenue on April 27. It specializes in brunch and wine tastings, and has a tattoo parlour in the back of the establishment. Yep, you read that correctly.

The City approved a third Bay County location for Diego’s Burrito Factory and Margarita Bar. It will be located at 1809 Ohio Avenue. Diego’s is a local, casual, made-to-order Mexican restaurant. There’s no information available on when the third location will open. T
